Perfect-Simple Plan
this is one of the my favorite song :) i'am certainly not saying I don't have good
parents, actually this song can apply to anyone and everything that's happening to them. Because I am sure that at least someone was felt that: No matter how hard they try they can't make their parents proud or they feel they are never gonna be good enough or that they didn't grow up according to parents plans or that its never gonna be alright again or that they just want to run away.

It was also another top 10 hit in Australia peaking
at number 6. The song also topped the American Top 40. It was #1 in Brazil in
2006, when it's live version was released. The song was also used in an episode
of Girlfriends.

the song was featured on the soundtrack of the 2004 comedy film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen which
stars Lindsay Lohan. The album version was
featured in the game Karaoke Revolution Volume 2.
In the music video of the single, the band are
playing on the roof of a house. Throughout the video, it shows how teens are
trying to escape such pressure by letting everything out, and finally realizing
that they can't keep their pain in any longer.
In an acoustic version
of the song, the band are seen talking before they play. Bassist David
Desrosiers says 'This is about me' before the band starts to play.
LYRIC
Hey dad, look at me
Think back and talk to me
Did I grow up according to the plan ?
And do you think I'm wasting my time doing things I wanna do?
But it hurts when you disapprove all along
Think back and talk to me
Did I grow up according to the plan ?
And do you think I'm wasting my time doing things I wanna do?
But it hurts when you disapprove all along
And now I try hard to
make it
I just wanna make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't pretend that
I'm alright
And you can't change me
I just wanna make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't pretend that
I'm alright
And you can't change me
'Cause we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
I try not to think
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero?
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don't care anymore
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero?
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don't care anymore
And now I try hard to
make it
I just wanna make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't stand another fight
And nothing's alright
And we can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
I just wanna make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't stand another fight
And nothing's alright
And we can't go back
I'm sorry
I can't be perfect
STORY
BEHIND THE SONG
The song titled
'Perfect' sung by Simple Plan was written by band members; Pierre Bouvier and
Chuck Comeau. Chuck’s father didn’t suppport of his carreer choice. His father always finding for something that his son
didn’t have. So, he tried to do everything possible on his own way. Pierre
Bouvier and Chuck Comeau inspired to write it after their parents told them to
go and find real jobs that would be capable of supporting them, and he and lead
singer Pierre Bouvier wrote this song to prove to his parents that he made it,
and to say sorry that he's not perfect.
THE
MEANING OF THE SONG
This song tells about the
parents who put so much pressure on teens to be his/her perfect image, when all
we really want is to be us and grow up and become what we want. Because of this
the kids don't understand their parents
anymore. But this song goes furthur then
just that.
